False Advertising, not any good for boaters

I'm not happy with this, advertised as being able to work thru boat hulls, but when it arrives there's a huge warning saying this end must be in water to work. so what am I supposed to do? hang over the front and dangle it the water? I might as well just look for bottom instead . can't believe I wasted a hundred bucks on this. went with 3 stars because leaving it blank wasn't an option
